John Millage Lee Falana, Sr. John was born on June 14, 1931 in Switzerland, Florida to Gus and Blanche Falana.  John was the 3rd child of 14 brothers and sisters.  John joined the army, served in Korea, met the love of his life, Sylvia Flynn, at a dance in Switzerland, Florida and the rest was history..  John and Sylvia started their 66 year journey together on October 24, 1955  John was a mechanic by trade and retired from the City of Jacksonville after 20 years of service.  After he retired he went on to a couple of different jobs but found he was happiest working at home.  Daddy's garage became the neighborhood meeting spot for friends over the years.  He loved working on cars and NAPA was his favorite destination.  Daddy was always willing to help anyone who needed help.  When people needed air in their tires, oil checkedr, their car picked up for repairs, or help with anything, daddy would stop whatever he was doing and help.  Daddy helped people, he fixed what was broken, and grew beautiful vegetable gardens.  He did what made him happy.

John and Sylvia had two children, Brenda Francisco (J.J.) and John Falana, Jr., and two grandchildren, J.J. and Triston.  John loved Sylvia, fast cars, and work.  He was a gardener who always believed in tomorrow,  he was a mechanic and believed if it could be fixed, he would fix it, and most of all, he would help anyone do anything if he was able.  My daddy was always happy and always willing to help anyone.
