John Michael Kretas

John Michael Kretas, 62, of Jacksonville, passed away on October 3, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center South. John was born on July 29, 1949 in Boston, MA to John and Leanora (D’Ambrosio) Kretas. He proudly served in the United States Army with the Special Forces. John attended the First Assembly of God Orange Park, and he enjoyed sailing, golfing, and walking the beaches with Daisy. He is survived by his loving wife, Daisy Kretas. Additional survivors include his children, John Michael Kretas Jr.; Laurie Anne Kretas; Amy Danielle Kretas (Richard Higgins); and Matthew Robert Kretas (Melanie); his mother, Leanora Kretas; his brothers, Paul R. Kretas (Elaine Kretas); and George A. Kretas (Maria); his grandchildren, Sarah, Jacy, Sarena, and Ava Kretas, & Leah and Sullivan Higgins; and his step sons, Zachary and Patrick Huffman. John was preceded in death by his father, John Kretas. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 7, 2011 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32218.
