John was born in Paterson, New Jersey on June 25,1942, the son of Alphonse and Angeline Pezzuti who preceded him in death. John was a 1963 graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Rutgers University where he received his MBA. John enlisted in the Navy in 1964 and was stationed in San Diego, Calif, from where he served two tours in Viet Nam aboard a destroyer. After leaving the Navy, John joined the Bank of America in NYC where he attained the title of Sr.VP of International Banking. This allowed John and his family to experience and enjoy living abroad in both England and Holland. He concluded his professional career as Vice President, Director, Professional Services at Lee Hecht Harrison in Jacksonville, Florida.
Shortly after joining the Navy, John met the love of his life, Roberta (Bobbie) Gill Pezzuti, and the rest was a fairytale! They married on March 21, 1965, on St. Simons Is. Ga. at St. Williams Catholic Church. Bobbie often commented that John was her “Rock” and her “Pillow”. To everyone who knew John, he was a true gentleman! He loved his family and always made time to attend any activity involving his children and grandchildren. He strived to make everyone happy and always replaced a goodby with “keep smiling”, a true testament to the bright light he brought to the world that continues to shine today. John was a devout Catholic, dedicating his time to serve on the board of Catholic Charities, volunteering at City Rescue Mission and participating in the Job Search ministry at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. John also enjoyed watching Notre Dame football, golf and reading.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, “Bobbie” Pezzuti, of Jacksonville, Florida; son, John Pezzuti, (Bernadine), Erie, Colorado, daughter, Theresa Pezzuti Foskey (Dan) Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Amanda Foskey, Jacksonville, Florida, Brian Foskey, Jacksonville, Florida, Robert Pezzuti, Erie, Colorado, Catalina Pezzuti, Erie, Colorado; brother, Dr. Roger Pezzuti (Margaret Pezzuti), Cape Elizabeth, Maine, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
