John Fabian Rodenborn Sr. passed peacefully on February 27th, 2026 after a full life. Born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Leo Vincent and Margaret Rose (Gendron) Rodenborn, he served in the United States Navy before making Jacksonville, Florida, his permanent home. There he met Claudette Kowkabany at church, married and put down roots of his own, having 3 children. John became a lawyer in 1971 and continued to practice for over 50 years, making innumerable friends and acquaintances along the way.
John was preceded in death by his siblings Dolores Madson, Margaret Smith, Leo Rodenborn Jr., and Lois Langfritz. He is survived by his younger sister Michelle Rodenborn from Rolling Hills, California, his 3 sons: John Jr., Jay and Josh, and his 3 grandchildren: Cali, Chloe and Holden.
His humor, legal knowledge, warmth and life advice will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He loved playing chess, napping with his beloved Chihuahua Mocha and visiting his friends and family. He enjoyed his time in the Beaches Bar Association and working with his business partners. His fatherly love is especially missed by his sons and all the others he loved and treated as his own.
