

BENNETT - Joseph Alexander Bennett, Jr. was born in Washington DC to Joseph A. Bennett, Sr. and Mary Pullen April 21, 1930, Mr. Bennett graduated from Sea Breeze High School in Daytona Beach, FL and attended Stetson University, DeLand, FL He served in the United States Marine Corp.
Mr. Bennett is survived by his loving wife (Jo Ann Parrish Bennett) of 49 years, a son Mathew Joel Bennett, three children by a previous marriage, Constance (Connie) Bennett Christal (Mike) of Plano TX, James Neville (Jim) Bennett (Charisse) of Issaquah, WA, and Jonathan Lauren (Jonny) Bennett, Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren, Kimberly and Carrie Christal, and Tylor and Joey Bennett.
Mr. Bennett was respected by all who knew him, enjoyed joking with people, thoroughly enjoyed ballroom dancing, gardening and always kept an immaculate yard, reading newspapers and non-fiction. He was a regular visitor at the Regency Square library, and McDonalds.
Mr. Bennett made public relations his career (insurance, collections, and men’s clothing), and was retired for many years. He was of the Christian faith.
Family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 that will celebrate his life at Corey Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, family request memorials are made to L’Arche Harbor House, Living Water Christian Church Building Fund, or The Arc Village, all located in Jacksonville, FL.
