

Joy was born in Buffalo, New York on November 21, 1959, to Kenneth King and Rose Caramela. She was confirmed into the Catholic Faith. Joy attended and graduated from Emerson Vocational High School, where she studied Hospitality. Joy was fond of music and dancing with friends and family. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, cooking, and traveling. Joy was a loving aunt and great aunt to several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Joy enjoyed spending time with family members near and far, with fond memories of spending time in Charleroi, Pennsylvania. She became a loving wife to Randall Dean Johnson and was a kind and loving stepmother to Wendy Leigh Johnson and David Lee Johnson.
Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Dean Johnson; sister, Theodora Wilson; and brother, Kenneth King Jr.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Wendy Leigh Johnson; stepson, David Lee Johnson; beloved dog, Willow Rose; sister, Melody Smith; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, February th 8th, from 2pm until a service time at 2:45 pm. A reception to follow at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Chapel.
