On September 21, 1941, in The First Methodist Church in Lake Butler, she married T. C. Warner. They had been married for 38 years at the time of his death in December of 1979. They started married life in Orlando, FL before moving to Jacksonville, FL. After moving to Jacksonville, they became members of the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville.
Ms. Warner went to work for Florida Telco Credit Union (now VyStar Credit Union) on March 16, 1953 as a Loan Representative. With the exception of operating the bookkeeping machine, she performed every duty in the Credit Union before becoming General Manager in March of 1963. She was elected to the Board of Directors in July 1963.
During her administration with Telco, she directed the migration from a ledger-card operation to online data processing to an in-house data system. The Credit Union evolved from providing basic saving and loan services to other financial services as MasterCard, telephone banking, ATMs and IRAs.
Although Ms. Warner retired as General Manager on March 4, 1988, she continued on the Board of Directors until 2006.
In retirement, Julia enjoyed travel and visits with friends, Friday Happy Hour with neighbors and the annual Johnson Family Reunions.
Special thanks to the staff at The Fountains for their excellent care in her final 13 years and their personal interest in her.
Julia is survived and will be missed locally by a niece, Marjorie Dean Olin Perkison, and by her many other nieces and nephews of the Johnson/Warner families in other locations with whom she stayed in touch by phone and their visits.
Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025 at Corey-Kerlin, 940 Cesery Blvd., and graveside services and burial to be at Swift Creek Cemetery.
Memorials should be to the charity of your choice.
