Our precious beautiful baby Kaden Cameron Hargrave, was born on Earth December 17, 2017 and born into Heaven when he was 2 months and 5 days old, February 22, 2018, as he was awaiting life saving heart surgery in Shands Children’s Hospital, Gainesville, Florida.
From one his first ultrasounds, when we saw his little baby fists doing punching moves, Kaden was dubbed The Fighter. In the womb, he was very energetic and would even dance when he would hear his favorite music, especially Christmas music such as Jingle Bells. Though he had a heart condition, to his family he was absolutely perfect! In his short stay with us on Earth he filled our days with great joy, miracles, love, hope, and faith. Kaden taught us compassion, patience, and the understanding to live in the moment. His life was meaningful and had a profound purpose and impact on our lives and those around him. He was like a beautiful gift from heaven with a “return to sender” tag on it. He was worth the journey, and every tear. Kaden was fiery, cheeky and sassy, in a baby kind of way. Kaden had these beautiful sparkling blue eyes with long eyelashes and soft auburn hair. His little button nose and cute cheeks were adorable. Many people said that he smelled like a baby angel. He loved cuddling, his octopus toy, balloons, aromatherapy, sweet voices, his parents singing, watching and listening to his brother, body massages, smiling, giggling, and lively music. He was a missionary from his crib, inspiring believers and nonbelievers to have faith and pray, and united hearts in prayer, bringing different religions to come together, breaking down any barriers. People often told his parents how strong they felt the Holy Spirit in Kaden’s room and feelings love and peace. Others reported that after a long stressful day and than visiting Kaden all troubles seemed to melt away. Kaden was a teacher to teach us how to live and put into practice the Fruits of the Holy Spirit as seen in Galatians 5:22-23. He uplifted the hearts of strangers, inspired, encouraged, and released hope. He was a living miracle! He was and is fiercely passionately unconditionally loved and greatly missed by his parents and big brother. We think Kaden’s motto would be this “All life is valuable! Keep smiling moving forward with passion. Don’t retreat. Keep fighting and never give up!”
Left to cherish his memory are: Mother, Marta Luz Hargrave; Father, Jacob Steen Hargrave; Brother, William Cameron Hargrave (4); Grandfathers, Alister Cameron and Dan Hargrave; Grandmothers, Martha Cameron and Carol Manderscheid Andrews; Great Grandfather, Don Hargrave; and many wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kaden’s family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, friendship, care, top notch medical care for Kaden, advocacy, compassion, kindness, encouragement, gifts, cards, texts, support, and most of all their love throughout the family’s journey. We really appreciate all of you and have a special place in our hearts. During these extremely heart-wrenching difficult times, the outpouring of love has helped carry us through.
