Carol Alex was born March 10, 1944 in Bridgeport Township Michigan to Frederick Alex and Mary Putrow. She lived in Bridgeport Township until she married Denny and moved to Ann Arbor. She assumed the name Kammie when she entered the business world after high school. Kammie (Carol) Sue Fleming age 74 died of natural causes March 11, 2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. After graduating from Saginaw High School in Saginaw, MI in 1962, Kammie attended Delta College in Saginaw County Michigan where she received an Associate’s Degree. After college she worked as an office manager at Bell Engineering in Saginaw, MI. She married Dennis (Denny) Fleming on July 26, 1975. She moved with him and their daughter Jenny to Ann Arbor, MI where they lived for 2 years. They then moved to Holland, MI where their son Michael was born. They lived in Holland until they moved to Jacksonville in 1986. Kammie’s mission in life was to raise her children and enjoy her grandchildren. Kammie’s greatest joys were involvement in the lives of her five grandsons Alex, Maxwell, Hunter, Preston and Daniel. Her face lit up whenever one of them came into her presence.
Kammie’s sister Janet Miller predeceased her. She is survived by her husband Dennis (Denny), daughter Jenny Utter (Matt), grandsons Alex and Max Utter, son Michael (Lisa) grandsons, Hunter and Preston Wilford and Daniel Fleming. She is also survived by her sister’s four sons, Scott (Kim) Broholm (Aurora, III), Randy (Laura) Miller, Brian (Bernie) Miller and Greg (Dawn) Miller of Merrill, MI and their families. Kammie is also survived by many relatives in Denny’s family in Michigan.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 with Vigil Prayers at 6:30 p.m. in Hardage-Giddens, The Oaklawn Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 in San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Rd. Jacksonville, with Rev. Rodolfo Godinez as Celebrant.
