

Kenneth Charles Brabender, age 67, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2017. He was born November 24, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late Orville and Anna Marie (Niehoff) Brabender. While living in Cincinnati, Ken met the love of his life, Christine. They moved to Jacksonville in 1994. Ken was employed by CSX Railroad from 1969 until the time he retired in 2010. He was a member of San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church in Saint Johns, FL. He was an avid fan of the Ohio Reds baseball team. Ken and his family enjoyed many trips to Disney together. He also loved deep sea fishing, bowling, pool and coaching baseball, softball and basketball teams. Kens legacy will continue through his wife of 44 years, Chris; their children, Joseph Brabender, Timothy (Angela) Brabender, and Angela (Lance) Ferrelli; two grandchildren, Landon and Jacob; and his brother, William Brabender. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24th from 6-8 p.m. in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 25th at 11:30 a.m. in San Juan Del Rio Catholic Church, 1718 FL 13, Saint Johns, FL 32259. Entombment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 4214 Loretto Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32223.
