Kyerra moved to Jacksonville, Florida with her mother, grandparents, and uncle Nakia Johnson and older brother Jordan Johnson. She attended Crown Point Elementary, Mandarin Middle School, and Mandarin High School. Kyerra enjoyed funny movies, good music, and her mom’s home cooked meals. She loved her family very much. Especially her step-father, George Abdullah who was in her life since she was 9 years old. She was also a very devoted big sister to her little brother, Daniel Abdullah. She was like a second mother to him. They would snuggle on the couch watching the same shows. She loved pit bulls and was an advocate for the breed. She enjoyed spending some summers in Syracuse with her father and his family. Her smile was radiant, and she always had something funny to say. She was quiet and sweet. She was very loved by her family and will be missed dearly.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Hazel Thornton, maternal grandfather, Willie Johnson, paternal grandfather, Lee Barksdale, and several other great aunts and uncles.
She continues to watch over her youngest and closest brother, Daniel Abdullah of Jacksonville, FL; older brother, Jordan Johnson of Puerto Rico; sisters, Shelby McDowell, and Navia McDowell; brothers, David McDowell Jr, and Devinere McDowell all of Syracuse, New York; nephew, Adrian Johnson; nieces, Serenity and Skye Johnson; grandmothers, Shelley Thornton, and Mae Ella McDowell; uncles, Nakia Johnson, and Eric Abdullah; aunts, Jessica Johnson, Danielle Abdullah, Felecia Johnson, and Alicia Johnson; as well as several cousins.
A Celebration of Kye’s Life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2018 in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32223.
