

L. David Shore, 87, retired Bakery Executive, passed away on July 17, 2014. He was a native of Anderson, S.C. and a resident of Jacksonville, Florida for more than 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy W. Shore, parents G.L. and Sally Shore and brother Gerald Shore. He was survived by children Stan Shore (Beverly), Janice Shore-Pearson (Jim), grandchildren Scott Ritter, Emily Walsh (Brian), Paul Shore and great-grandson Lucas Riedl. Following College he entered the Baking Business in 1950 and was employed for 39 years. He managed bakeries in Miami, Florida, Birmingham, Alabama, Rocky Mount N.C. and retired as President of Flowers Baking company of Jacksonville in 1989. He was very active in Civic affairs and served as Past Presidents of the Kiwanis Breakfast Club, GMRA, North Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Science of Engineering Fair. He served as Vice President of the Sales and Marketing Executives of Jacksonville and Director of the Greater Jacksonville Fair. He was a member of the Gator Bowl Association, University Club and West Side Kiwanis Club. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Hardage-Giddens The Oaklawn Chapel In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association.
