

He was outgoing and energized by people, activities and he was action oriented. “Sharkey” made his decisions based on clear, concrete information as he used common sense to create practical solutions. He was a creative thinker and problem solver, who used his imagination. “Sharkey” made his decisions based on his feelings as he was sensitive to others and would work to resolve conflicts. He felt comfortable jumping into action and planned on the go because he liked to be flexible and free to decide on his own. “Sharkey” was a kind, thoughtful, generous and loving man who deeply loved his wife and family.
He served in the United States Army and loved to fish. In fact, every chance he got, it would go fishing and he loved the water and beach. He retired as a railroad engineer from CSX Railroad.
He is predeceased by his father and mother: Stanley Earl O’Steen and Rosalie Norton O’Steen. He has two (2) sisters. “Sharkey” is survived by his wife; Peggy Susan O’Steen. “Sharkey” and Peggy were married on October 13, 1994. He is survived by his son; Lamar Earl O’Steen, Jr. and predeceased by his daughter; Julie Ann O’Steen Jones. “Sharkey” is survived by six (6) grandchildren and one (1) great grandchild. “Sharkey” will forever be loved, missed and remembered.
