Laurie Jones

Laurie Jones passed away on May 26, 2008 after a brief illness. Born July 26, 1927 in Madison, FL, she was the daughter of the late Cyrus and Frankie Mae Henderson. She was an avid bridge and bingo player and was an active member of the Red Hat Ladies Society. She also served as a greeter at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Her wonderful sense of humor will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends. Laurie is survived by her children Robert L. Jones, Jr. (Sharon) and Donna Jones Boymer (Mike) of Jacksonville. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sr. and her nine siblings. In addition, Laurie leaves to cherish her memory, her grandchildren Brian (Kristi), Kevin (Trish), Crystal (Lee), and Melody and her great-grandchildren, Autumn, Abigail, and Scarlett. A visitation will be held at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd., Jacksonville, FL on Thursday evening, May 29, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church at 1773 Blanding Blvd. on Friday May 30, 2008 at 10:00 am with Father Luke McLoughlin celebrant. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. in charge of arrangements.
