Lavinia E. "Missy" Rockafellow

Missy was born June 27, 1922 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She graduated from Merchantville High School, Merchantville, NJ. Missy was a long time employee of Merchantville National Bank, Merchantville, NJ and was active with the Girl Scouts of America while living in NJ. Upon moving to Florida, Missy began her long career in the golfing industry. She became golf administrator first at Deerwood Country Club, Jacksonville, FL and later at Spruce Creek Country Club, Port Orange, FL. Later in life she found the job where she was most gratified, The First Tee of St. Johns County, FL. “Miss Missy” was adored by the children that came through the program. Besides being and employee of the First Tee, she was also a patron member and active volunteer.

She is survived by her daughter Dona Rockafellow Zamalloa and her husband Jaime Zamalloa, son Alfred Allen Rockafellow and his wife Callie Rockafellow, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from five o’clock until seven o’clock in the evening at The Oaklawn Chapel. Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Deermeadows Baptist Church, Jacksonville, FL. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
