EVANS - Leila Allison Evans, 90, passed away Saturday, August 19, 2017. Mrs. Evans was a member of Highlands Baptist Church where funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 24, with Pastor Art Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Mrs. Evans was born in Bamberg, S.C. and had resided in Jacksonville since 1959. She had retired after 26 years from Allstate Insurance Company as their last stenographer. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Keith Evans; two sisters, Margie Bryant and Wilihlemia Lindler and two brothers, Samuel Sandifer and David Sandifer. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Jeanne Johnson (Gerald); one son, James K. “Jimmy” Evans (Linda); 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 PM to 7 PM Wednesday, August 23, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in her memory to Highlands Baptist Church, 2159 Broward Road.
