

Lester Dieas (PePa), 85, lifelong resident of Jacksonville, dies April 16, 2017 after a long heroic battle with cancer. He served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman stationed in Germany after WWII. He enjoyed racing stock cars on dirt tracks in the southeast. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 343 as a 25-degree Mason since 1995 and served as Provost Guard Captain from 2006 to 2009. As a Shriner, he enjoyed transporting many children to and from the Shriner's Children's Hospital in Tampa. He is predeceased by his parents Henry and Carrie Dieas; wife Agnes Blizzard Dieas; brother William Dieas; sisters Mamie Halford, Hattie Perkins, and Ruby Faircloth. He is survived by his children Sandra McClain (Mac), Frankie Klenk (Bob), sons Bill Dieas (Vicki), Clarence Dieas, and Michael Smith (Darlene); two brothers, John Dieas (Marie) and Jim Dieas; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel, 4115 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32207. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 21, 2017 in Hardage-Giddens Hendricks Chapel, followed by interment in Jacksonville Memory Gardens.
