I am so sorry for the loss of Lillian my thoughts and prayers are with the family. Having just lost my mom I truly know your sadness.  I had the pleasure of doing Lillians hair for the last several years she was a beautiful LADY.  She always said to me if you want to know why I look so good at this age it is because I had a wonderful husband that treated me like a Queen and a wonderful family.  She was so proud of you all.  She loved the family reunions it gave her great pleasure to go.  She will be greately missed.   Go Gators!!!

Sorry for your loss, Aunt Lil was a dear sweet woman.

To the family of the late Ms.Lillian M.Barket.I was so shocked when i read ms. barket's obituary in the paper you all have my greatest sympathy at this bereaving time.I remember ms. barket from years ago when i worked for her when the family lived on tallulah ave. on the northside of jax.She and her husband were the sweetest and kindest people you could meet.I also had the opportunity to help raise their children and grandchildren. I know that she will be sadly missed by you all ms. barket was such a family oriented person and was so kind at giving to a persons need. Aunt Lil really was such a wonderful person. It is really sad that she has passed, it marks the end of an era in our family. She was the last great matriarch of our clan, a position that became increasingly important to me after the loss of Grandma, and Aunt Ju and Aunt Mattie. I remember her always being there, at Vero and at holiday gatherings, from when I was a little boy through adulthood, and as I made it through college I was always so proud to tell her when I mastered another Syrian recipe. She always seemed proud of me too, which encouraged me to keep those important traditions alive. We have lost a lot of irreplaceable knowledge with her passing, but her memory will help us maintain those family traditions that are so important to us. I will really miss her.

We rejoice in the wonderful memories of Lillian.  That she touch our lives in so many positive ways is a testament to her memory and to her family.  Go Gators, go Tigers.      Amber Family

Aunt Lil was such a sweet lady.  I can still remember going to the spaghetti dinners, visiting at Christmas as a child, and her sitting in a lawn chair at the family reunion at Vero which she hardly missed.  And who can forget that she dressed so properly with those high heel shoes:)  She lived a long a beautiful life here on earth and will continue her beautiful life in heaven. Praying for peace for the family.
