

Lillian Mamo Barket, 97, died March 18, 2011 quietly in her sleep at home. Lillian was born on February 28, 1914 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Fudtha and Louis Mamo. She was predeceased by her husband Samuel E. Barket, Sr., daughter Gwen Saleeba, sons-in-law Raymond Saleeba, Sr., Oliver Barsh and great-grandson Raymond Saleeba, III. She is survived by her sons Samuel E. Barket, Jr., (Marcie) and Dr. Thomas A. Barket, (Lynne), daughter Karen Barsh, as well as 13 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lillian was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and a founding member of the Syrian Ladies Charity Society. Lillian and her husband, Sam, were instrumental in creating the Holy Cross Mission in North Jacksonville.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 22, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at All Saints Episcopal Church, 4171 Hendricks Ave. Graveside services will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd.
