She was baptized August 22, 1999 at Nolan Ridge Church in Middleburg, FL, and later attended Fruit Cove Baptist Church where she enjoyed the Joyful Truth Seekers class. She worked very hard all her life at various occupations, but the most meaningful to her was caring for the children of several Jacksonville families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, all of her 12 siblings, one daughter, Janet Louise Thompson and grandson, Jonathan Scott Curington. She is survived by five children, Shirley Taylor (Larry), Wanda Curington (Tim), Carol Burkhart (Bill), Alan Wood (Elaine), and Everett Lee Eads, as well as many grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.
We would like to acknowledge the wonderful care givers at Life Care Center of Orange Park, who showed her much love and respect at all times. Their love was evident to all of us during her last days, by the time they took out of their busy schedules to come sit with her and say their goodbyes. We would also like to acknowledge our Community Hospice team who were so attentive to our Mothers' needs and our own.
A graveside memorial service honoring our Mother, Lola Padgett, will be held on September 7, 2019 at 11 am at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32207 with Rev. Charles Ragland officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be made in her honor to Community Hospice, 4266 Sunbeam Rd Jacksonville, FL 32257.
Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.
