

Born in Taal, Batangas on April 10, 1932, Lolita Medina Tamares was the daughter of the late Mariano Orlina Medina and Pacita Flores Medina. Loving and faithful wife of 66 years to Carlos Morante Tamares, she was a great provider and mother to her seven children, Ellen (Alex) Balmadres, Zenith (Alberto) Ilagan, Divina (Edison) Agito, Arnaldo (Maria Mitos) Tamares, Julan (Yolanda) Tamares, and Menchie (Miguel) Montealegre. She is predeceased by her husband, Carlos Morante Tamares and son, Ronilo Tamares (Glovelinda). Proud and loving grandmother of Gretchen (Fionn) Harney, Denise and Abigail Ilagan, Jo-ann (Carlos) Fernandes, Fidjinourie, and Jillian Kristine Tamares, Kitt Heison (Anna Marie) Agito, Donnie Ray (Joanne) Agito, Jazemin (Nico) Reque, Chelsea and Chelson Tamares, Christllie Anne and Chriselle Marie Tamares, Colby Juan and Kayla Marie Montealegre, and great grandchildren Miguel Andrei Tamares and Catriona Kanne Agito. A loving sister of Pepito Medina, Laudelino Medina, Juanito Medina, Macaria Alcaraz, Gliceria Robles, Felicisimo Medina, and Rosalinda Urieta, survived by her nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lolita, fondly known as “Lolit” or “Lita”, was a very hardworking mother and wife who put her family’s needs before her own. She never complained, no matter how difficult life was to her. Through her perseverance, she witnessed all seven of her children graduate college. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and wife. A dedicated and well-respected grade- school teacher in the Philippines, her passion for teaching impacted her students even up until adulthood. She was a very prayerful and devout woman of God whose faith influenced those around her, and her community surely witnessed how the Lord blessed her in many ways. She fought the good fight of faith, and is now in the loving arms of our Creator and reunited with her beloved husband. Her loving memory will be cherished in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
