Lona was preceded by her dearly loved husband Samuel C. Singletary, Jr., on November 5, 2016. She will be greatly missed by her loving sister Sherry L Gilbert, and her brothers Daniel J (Janet) Gilbert, David R (Janet) Gilbert and her niece's Danielle (David) Miller, Jennifer (Curtis) Wiggins, and Stephanie Gilbert.
Lona was loved by many Uncles, Aunts and cousins and for whom she cared for dearly.
Lona previously worked for Times Union Newspaper, amd Mayor Hans Tanzler’s office where she had the opportunity to wear Jacksonville’s “Key to the City” and was featured on the front page of the Times Union. She ended her career working in the manufacturing and health service industries.
Lona lived life to its fullest, and her way. She made friends easily and was loved by many at her last home, the Deerwood Center.
