Loren "Larry" Richard Newton

NEWTON - Loren Richard “Larry” Newton, age 76 passed away Saturday March 19, 2016 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born February 20, 1940 in Hollywood, CA to Walter and Evangeline (Thomas) Newton. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy. The word stranger was never a part of his vocabulary or his life. Larry was a man who loved his family, friends, his animals, and everyone he met. His loving heart and caring ways will be greatly missed by all. Larry was a retired pharmaceutical representative, a career that he loved for more than thirty three years. He was an active member and former president of the Optimist Club of Arlington. After retirement Larry adopted a new favorite hobby of walking his dog. He would walk her and whatever other animals that followed the “piped piper” of animals. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 48 years Eileen Sweeney Newton; daughters Karen Flynn (John) and Kathy Coulthart (K.C.);seven grandchildren Mackenzie, Jason, Alice, Emma, Grace, Molly, and Norah. Family will receive family and friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm , Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32211, www.corey-kerlin.com. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Larry’s honor to Jacksonville Humane Society.
