

Louis “Louie” Davis, 68, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away April 6, 2023. He passed peacefully with his loving family by his side. He was born to Arthur and Mary Louise Davis on December 6, 1954, in Brunswick Georgia. He was raised in Darien, Georgia and graduated from Oglethorpe Christian Academy where he was labeled “The best left-handed pitcher in McIntosh County.”
After high school he started his career at Interstate Paper in Riceboro, Georgia where he worked for many years. While there he enjoyed playing half rubber with his co-workers. He relocated to Jacksonville, Florida where he owned and operated his own window installation company. He later took a supervisory position at Capitol Glass where he made lifelong friends.
Louie was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting (of course never firelight hunting:) fishing, crabbing, shrimping, and riding the river. He was also a Master Craftsman; he could repair anything (he was The True MacGyver). He loved baseball and NASCAR, but his true passion was drinking ice cold Busch Light while watching the “DAWGS” play.
He is preceded in death by his parents, twin sister Mary Louise “Cheeta” Davis, brother James “Bozy” Davis, nephews Mike Lewis and Tony “Lil Man” Cason and sister-In-Law Debra Ann Cason.
He is survived by son Chris Davis of Yulee, Florida, daughter Emily Knight (Ricky) of Jacksonville Florida. His Grandchildren Leland Davis and Kinsley Knight. His siblings Buddy Davis, Nan Lewis (Mike), Bonnie Caldwell (Rick), all of Darien Georgia. Brother-in-law Tony Cason (Dena) of Glennville, Georgia, and sister-in-law Michelle Schmidt (Jimmy) of West Palm Beach, Florida. Special friends Pam Davis and Cheryl Chambers. Several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The visitation will be held April 15, 2023 from 11:00am-12:00pm followed by the funeral service at 12:00pm at Corey Kerlin Funeral Home.1426 Rowe Ave Jacksonville, Florida 32208.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank all the Dr’s, nurses, and other staff members of Baptist Hospital Downtown on the ICU and PCU floors and the staff at PAM Specialty Health Hospital for the special care and attention.
