Born October 19, 1931, in Bunnell, Florida to Nazhla and Louis Trad, Lou was one of nine children and grew up on his family farm. In 1954, he graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Agriculture.
He met the love of his life, Betty Nackashi, at a Knights of Columbus dance, and they married in 1964. Together they raised four children, Anna Trad Keehn (Dave), Denise Trad-Wartan (Rafi), Kathleen Trad Hoff (Scott), and Christopher Trad (Lauren).
In 1971, parlaying his education and natural skills, Lou opened Trad’s Garden Center, which later became Trad’s Garden Center and Pest Control. He was known for his big smile, his generosity, kindness, and support. Lou was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus; he dedicated his free time as a volunteer at San Jose Catholic Church, Bishop Kenny High School, the Sulzbacher Center soup kitchen, and cheering on his Florida Gators.
The Trad family continues to operate Trad’s Pest Control to his high standards.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife, Betty; his four children and sons and daughter in law; his nine grandchildren, Daniel and Michael Keehn, Nora (Tyler) and Madeline Wartan, Emily, Sadie, and Jeremy Hoff, Leena and Cassidy Trad; many nieces and nephews; and his siblings Charles Trad (Harriett) and Jeannette Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishop Kenny High School and San Jose Catholic Church. Rosary and vigil will be at San Jose Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 15th at 7pm and the Funeral will be at San Jose Catholic Church on Thursday, October 16th at 11am.
