

Born on October 12, 1936, to James and Mary Townsend of Jacksonville, Florida, she was one of 13 children. She grew up on a farm and enjoyed horseback riding as a young child. She married Wilbur “Kenston” Cox of Green Cove Springs, Florida and had two children, Pamela “Pam” Jean Waldron and James Stanley “Stan” Cox.
She was an accomplished retired banker. Throughout her life she was a devoted member of the church and thoroughly enjoyed traveling the U.S. and abroad. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her love of cooking and hosting family gatherings.
She was preceded in death by her husband (Kenston) and many of her siblings.
She is survived by her siblings Jaunita “Nita” Wilson and Raymond Townsend (Joyce), her children, Pamela “Pam” Waldron, James Stanley “Stan” Cox (Tammy), her grandchildren, Lauren Pilkinton (Shawn), Brandon Waldron (Sierra), Morgann Cox (Seth), Blakeslee Campbell (John), 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Her legacy lives on in the love she shared and the memories she created with family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, from 10 am to 11 am with services following at Greenlawn Cemetery (4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl 32207).
