

Madeline Fay Snell Lipscomb passed away on January 6, 2026. She was born in Headland, Alabama on March 12, 1932. She died at her home in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by family and friends. She was 93 years old.
Madeline taught 2nd grade at CCHS elementary school for 20 years. She was active in PTA, Church, school and community. She always had another place at her table and a little more stock in the pot. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, reading and building puzzles. Her true vocation was taking care of her home and family.
She was married to Alfred H. Lipscomb for 45 years. She is lovingly remembered by 5 children: Tim (Tonia), Harvey (Eva), Lavada Stophel Henley (Earl-deceased), Cynthia Gibson (Rob-deceased), and Robert (Lori). She has 16 Grandchildren and a garden overflowing with generations of blooms and numerous extended family on both sides.
She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred H. Lipscomb, Sons-in-law: Earl Henley and Rob Gibson, her parents: Harvey and Lois Snell, two sisters, one brother, and one grandchild.
There will be a service at Highlands United Presbyterian Church, 10900 McCormick Dr, Jacksonville FL 32225, Friday, January 9, at 11 am.
Also at Rockford Baptist Church, US Highway 231, Rockford, AL., Sunday, January 11, at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice and the American Cancer Society.
