
BELL HERNDONMargaret A. Bell Herndon, 46, died suddenly Wednesday, August 22, 2007. She was affectionately known as “MAGGIE” to her many friends in her church, Boy Scouts, crossing guard at San Mateo Elementary School, at Sam’s Club on Dunn Avenue and her voting precinct where she worked. She was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville, a graduate of Bishop Kenny High School and a graduate of Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee. Maggie was active in every aspect of scouting to include being an assistant Scout Master for Troop #535 and Troop #403, a Cub Scout Camp Director for 3 years, a District Commissioner on the District Commission and had achieved her wood badge training which is the highest level of training as a scout leader. She also was an assistant clerk at voting precinct #11M at New Berlin Road Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of three months, Cliff Herndon; two sons, Corey G. Bell and Nicholas C. Bell; her mother, Marie A. Corey; her father and step-mother, George and Elizabeth Corey; a brother, John T. Corey; two sisters, Mary (Michael) Nunn and Lealia (Steve) Joyner; two step-sisters, Shelly Theis and Kelly Hogan; four step-daughters, Julie, Kirsten, Blaire and Kelsey Herndon; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family and dear friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday (TODAY) at her church, North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 North Main Street. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 25, at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, with Rev. Tim Rigdon officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
