March 5, 1926 - September 8, 2023
Margaret Lucille Vogel was called to her heavenly home at the age of 97, on Friday, September 8, 2023. She lived a long, full, and wonderful life serving the Lord and loving her family.
Margaret was born in Duke, AL on March 5, 1926 and resided there until she moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she met the love of her life, Otto Vogel. It was love at first sight for Otto, he saw Margaret sitting on her porch with rollers in her hair and he knew that she was the woman he was going to marry. Less than a year later they married on February 9, 1945. Otto and Margaret went on to travel and live all over the world.
Margaret dedicated her life to supporting her husband’s 30 year military career and raising her family. After his retirement from the military they settled in Jacksonville, Florida and enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their family. Margaret was an avid seamstress and sewed clothes for her daughters and granddaughters, as well as many prom dresses for her daughters and her daughter’s friends. She loved animals and rescued many stray cats over the years. Margaret loved Jesus and served Him wholeheartedly by sharing His love through passing out tracts and leaving them wherever she went. She never hesitated to ask someone if they knew Jesus as their Savior and offered to tell them about His love for them.
Margaret is survived by her daughters Marge Williams and Renee Lewis, granddaughters Melissa Ramirez (Michael) and Christina Vickers, great grandchildren Nick Ramirez, Shelbi Moxley, Staten Vickers, Collin Harper, Daniela Muzquiz, Kati Anne Vickers, and Matthew Ramirez.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 77 years Otto Vogel, father E. B. Brooks, mother Flora Tebeau, brother Charles Brooks, her son-in-law Dan Lewis, and all of her many beloved pets.
