Martin "Marty" Vincent Woods

WOODS- Martin “Marty” Vincent Woods, 61, of Yulee passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Warner Center in Fernandina Beach. A son of the late David and Hattie Lena O’Driskol Woods, he was a Jacksonville native but had made his home in Yulee since 2006. Marty was a tile setter for much of his working life but he will be remembered for his love of fishing and gardening. Marty enjoyed his entire family but especially his granddaughter, Makenzie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sons, Shane Palow, Michael Woods and Martin Allen Woods; his step-father, Benjamin Woods; as well as brothers and sisters, Clayton Woods, Leroy Woods, Ronnie Woods, Wanda Taylor and Pam Woods. His surviving family includes: his wife of 37 years, Loretta Hudnall Woods, a son, James Vincent “Vince” Woods; his granddaughter, Makenzie Edwards-Woods; three sisters, Janet (Wayne) Jenkins, Thelma Carter and Cynthia (Dale) Aldridge; two brothers, David (Barbara) Woods and John (Susan) Woods and several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. A memorial service, to celebrate Marty’s life, will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Victory Celebration Church, 3320 New Berlin Rd., Jacksonville 32226 with Pastor Jim Matthews officiating.
