Herman “Tiny” Bohannon

Age 93, of Jacksonville, FLorida passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022
Born Jacksonville, Florida
Mary started working at Independent Life through a work/school program at Englewood H.S. and worked there for 25 years. She then worked at Cracker Barrell and Memorial Health Care. Tiny was a veteran of the Korean War. When he returned home he worked for CSX railroad and then worked various jobs including W.F. Gay, Carpet Barn, and Bowl America.
Mary loved flowers and gardening. She was one of those cooks who threw things together and they were fantastic. She had a love of nature and loved riding her bike as a kid and climbing trees. Tiny loved doing leather work, bowling, and then transitioned to doing ceramics with Mary. He also started baking in his 70s and we loved his carrot cake, peanut butter, and snickerdoodle cookies. They both had a wonderful sense of humor and loved sweets.
They married September 27, 1968 and were married 53 years. They are survived by their son (Bruce) and daughter (Lynett) and multiple grandchildren. They loved to spoil their granddaughter (Morgan). Mary retired in 2004 to take care of her and they both had a large role in raising her. Although we always said Papa was her playmate rather than any type of authority figure as he was a big kid at heart.
A loving daughter, wife, mother, and “Grammie”, Mary created positivity wherever she went and inspired those around her.
A loving son, father, husband, and “Papa”, Tiny never knew a stranger and made friends with everyone he met. They will both be dearly missed by friends and family alike.
