

Mary Frances Hawk was born on May 1st 1929 in Nicholsville, Alabama . She passed peacefully from this life into the arms of our Lord on Monday December 11th in her home in Jacksonville, Florida. From the very beginning she was gifted with a strong drive and motivation to make a difference in the lives of others. She attended college in Athens, Alabama where she obtained her undergraduate degree. After teaching school for a short time she attended Southwestern Theological Seminary where she obtained her Masters Degree in Christian Education. After college she began her life's work as a foundational member of the staff of First Baptist Church in downtown Jacksonville, Florida. For more than forty years she developed educational programs and directed children's ministries. Mary Frances spent her life serving others and loving children and families. Her heart's desire was the tireless pursuit of sharing the love of Jesus with anyone she met. She lead by example and was always an encourager.
Mary Frances was predeceased by her parents, Robbin Alexis and Laura Bates Hawk, as well as her brothers, James and Trevor Hawk. She is survived by her brothers, Alvin and Coleman Hawk, as well as her sisters-in-law, Anne and Dot Hawk. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was dearly loved by all her family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral church services will be held on Friday, December 15th at First Baptist Church (Hobson Auditorium) in downtown Jacksonville, Florida at 2pm. The family will hold visitation at 1pm before the service that same day. Burial will be following the church service at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Cemetery at 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32207
