

JAQUES……Mary Jane Jaques, 90, passed away on September 22, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Capt. Richard F. Jaques, Sr.; daughter, Betty G. Jackson; sister, Mildred Randolph; and brother, Jack Metcalf. She loved being a homemaker and was an excellent cook. Mrs. Jaques had a total commitment to anything she got involved with, from being involved at school when her children were growing up to being a long time Sunday School teacher at Arlington Baptist Church. One of her proudest accomplishments was being a welder at the Shipyards during World War II. She worked for Shoreline Carpet Supply in Jacksonville for a number of years and was a member of the Arlington Woman’s Club as well as the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Jaques is survived by her daughter, Julie Jaques; son, Richard F. Jaques, Jr. (Cheryl); sister, Martha Baker; grandchildren, Michael S. Jackson (Erin), Edwin B. Jaques, and Danielle S. Braun (Matthew); and great grandchildren, Nicholas T. Jackson, Zachary C. Jackson, and Avengelyne E. Wilson-Jaques. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, September 25th with Pastor Eddie Lockamy and Sandra Jaques officiating, at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the start of the service. Burial will follow the service in Arlington Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests donations to Community Hospice of N. E. Florida (Morris Center), 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
