Early on the morning of November 3, 2016, Mary Flowers Miller, age 70, spread her wings to depart on the most wonderful journey of her life. She gracefully joins her sister and parents as she embarks on this amazing new adventure. Her time here on earth was filled with love, family, and life’s most simple pleasures. She was an avid gardener and had the most beautiful collection of African violets. She worked hard for 30 years as an RN and helping others was a passion ingrained in her spirit. She loved to spend time outside, breathing fresh air and just looking at the stars. She enjoyed good food and taking time to make her house into a home.
Mary is survived by her two daughters: Allison Luker and Amy Eisenrieth. She called her girls her “little birds” and her nest grew to include six grandchildren; 4 boys - Ethan, Charlie, Wyatt, Joey; and 2 girls - Grace and Reese. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She loved to spend time teaching them how to find beauty in everyday things.
Mary was given 4 months to live after being diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). Her amazing spirit and strong will made it possible for her to spend a full year with those she loved while she made preparations to join the Lord. A private service will be held for her immediate family. In lieu of flowers Mary requested donations be made in her honor to either St Jude Children’s Hospital or Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
