Mary Roberts (Billie) Mitchell passed away February 15, 2013. She was born September 23, 1920, in Carbour, Florida and grew up in Pompano Beach. Her parents were Annie Laurie Riggs Roberts and Henry Ernest Roberts. She became a resident of Jacksonville in 1946. She was a member of the Ortega United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years. Her husband of 67 years, Dr. Jesse Alvin Mitchell, Jr., passed away January 3, 2009. She is survived by one daughter, Laurie Mitchell Crofton (Arthur), one son, Thomas Riggs Mitchell, and one grandson, Wesley Thomas Mitchell and her daughter-in-love, Becky Mitchell. A memorial service with Rev. Mike Hudson officiating will be held at Ortega United Methodist Church, at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20th. Burial at Oaklawn Cemetery will be private.
