Mary Joanne Petry

Joanne was born August 11, 1930 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of Theodore and Marie Jockenhoefer.

She married William John Petry Sr.on February 17, 1951 in the Church of St. Lukes, the Evangelist in Richmond Heights, Missouri. She graduated from St. Elizabeth’s Academy in 1948. Joanne was a dedicated wife and mother, she also found time to work as a secretary at Jensen of Jacksonville and Gulf Life Insurance.

She was an avid reader, traveler and seamstress, active member, treasurer and volunteer at the Resurrection Catholic Church of Jacksonville, Florida. Joanne also loved singing both in the church choir and in a chorale group with the Jacksonville Symphony.

She is survived by her children, Mary McMillian, John Petry and his wife Karen, Cindy Petry (wife of William Petry Jr.), Jo Anne Petry all of Jacksonville, Florida; Joseph Petry of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Christina Petry and fiancee Paul of Harbor Springs, Michigan.

Grandchildren Joni Petry, Michael Petry and Marquis McMillian all of Jacksonville, Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband William J Petry Sr., son William Petry Jr. and daughter Lisa Petry, her siblings, Theodore Jockenhoefer, Trudy Lambur, and John Jockenhoefer.

A Memorial mass date and time will be announced and she will be interred at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, date and time to be announced.
