Matthew Raymond Brown, special son to Chet and Renee Brown died suddenly on July 6, 2016. He is survived by his sister, Marie, his aunts, Dolores Bober-McCain and Denise Brown, along with cousins, Scott and Sandy Bober; their children: Jake, T.J., Rick, Megan, and Nicole. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Frank and Lillian Bahovec, and Chester Sr. and Evelyn V Brown. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Mandarin and attended Bishop Kenny and University Christian High School. He loved working with his hands in the trades and most of all enjoyed commercial fishing. An auto accident took away his dreams of leading the active life he wanted. He then found consolation in studying the history of coins and working with plants. He was a loving son and brother and a kind soul. He will be missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or to a charity of your choice. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 15 with Vigil Prayers at 6:30 pm in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 16 in The Marian Center of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223. www.hgmandarin.com (904) 288-0025.
