Matthew Wayne Freeman

Matthew Wayne Freeman born to Anthony Wayne Freeman and Laurie Susan Price on January 18, 1983 and departed on March 17, 2023. Survived by his mother and stepfather, Laurie and Lee Price, his sister, Jennifer Dews and Husband, Rick Dews, his nieces: Haley Jenkins and Ariella Dews, and nephew, A.J. Jenkins, stepbrothers Jason and Jeremiah Price of Gainesville, Florida; several nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles both in New York and in Georgia. Matthew’s immediate Grandmother, Natholyn Freeman, also resides in Macon, Georgia.

Matthew Wayne Freeman, age 40, loved his father, mother and sister and extended family!! He had a heart of gold, loved the Lord, and got into the Word daily. He loved giving to the homeless on the streets and discipling God’s Word with his family and friends both on and off the road. Both a journalist and a deep thinker, Matthew would often write down immediately whatever words or comparisons the Holy Spirit compelled him to. Despite his struggles, and sometimes even during them, he was a bold witness, passing out bibles, flyers, and tracks to people on the beach. He was so on fire for God that he pulled over his big rig truck on the highway, cranked up his Jesus music, and ran with his victory flag which proclaimed “Jesus is Lord.” He even baptized his niece, Haley, in the High Falls river. Matthew sent video after video on Marco Polo, witnessing and studying the word with any and everyone that would join in. He enjoyed a good work out and his favorite meal was chicken Takasaki and healthy smoothies.

Matthew was an experienced landscaper, excellent with plants and gardening; later became a truck driver partnering up with his father. He was adventurous, loved his truck mascot, Obey, and cats in general. He loved the thrills of amusement rides, Six Flags, roller skating, playing guitar, and spending time walking with his Mom and Dad when in town.

Though he is no longer by our side, his impact, love, and memories remain in our hearts forever.
