Melinda Roman Legaspi

Melinda Roman Legaspi, aged 63, was called to her heavenly home on January 2, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. Melinda, known to her family and friends as Mely, was born May 4, 1952 in Manila, Philippines to her late father Jose Roman and her living mother Modesta Roman. She grew up in Minalin, Pampanga and spent her last 15 years in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a very talented seamstress. She was a loving, generous, courageous, faithful woman. Her caring spirit resides within her son O’Neil Legaspi, her son and daughter-in-law Omar and Nice Legaspi, her daughter O’Ziel Legaspi, her husband Noel Legaspi, her mother Modesta Roman, siblings Erlinda Dimzon, Romeo Roman, Angelito Roman, Efren Roman, Arnel Roman, and Lorna Magat, and many nieces and nephews. Waiting with the angels to welcome her home is her late father Jose Roman, late sister Nancy Roman, and late son Owen Legaspi. A celebration of Mely’s life will be held from 5:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m on Friday, January 8th with a Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. in Hardage- Giddens Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (Main), 11730 Old St. Augustine Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32258 with Father Thanh Nguyen as Celebrant followed by interment in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery.
