Merle Culpepper, 91, went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2010. She was born in Wellborn, FL and lived most of her life in Jacksonville. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was passionate about sewing and her family. She loved everyone.
Surviving family members include her children, Elizabeth Stanczyk (Larry), Nancy Saffold (Jimmy) and Walter Culpepper (Judy); six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her late husband, Walter “Sonny” Culpepper and first husband, Lamar F. Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, October 1st in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 2nd in Fruit Cove Baptist Church, 501 State Rd 13, Jacksonville, FL 32259 followed by interment in Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville FL 32207.
