

Michael (Mickey) Kersun, born on September 18, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away at age 87 on January 3, 2019 in Jacksonville, Florida. Mickey graduated with a Bachelors Degree in History from Temple University in 1952. From 1953-1956 he was an outside linebacker for the Philadelphia Eagles. In 1964, Mickey and his wife Mimi moved to Jacksonville, Fl. where he became an early owner/operator of several McDonalds franchises. In 1986, he purchased his current business Stylors that he still owns and operates with his son Sam Kersun. Throughout his life he was was privileged to serve as a mentor, a coach and President of Beauclerc Country Club, Chairman of the Mens division of UJA, President of the Florida Operators Association of McDonalds and was a founding contributor of the JCA.He is survived by his wife of 56 years Mimi, sons Sam Kersun, Michael Levitt and daughter Allison Kersun. He was preceded in death by his daughter,Michele Levitt. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 6, 2019 in New Center Cemetery, located at 43rd and Liberty Streets, Jacksonville, FL. Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner officiating.
