

SUTTON, Minnie LeeOur dear mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and loving friend, Minnie Lee Sutton, went home Tuesday, February 6, 2007 to be with her Dear Lord. Minnie was a beloved member of Calvary Baptist Church for over thirty years, where she was a member of the Senior Saints and loved the church as family. Mrs. Sutton was a twenty year member of the Riverview Senior Center and over the years was always busy helping others. She resided at Rosalind Villa and loved everyone there. She was born August 22, 1921 in Burgaw, North Carolina to Lorena and Danny Rackley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert C. “Bill” Sutton; son, James Daniel “Donnie” Sutton; sister, Liz Smith and brother, Dewey Rackley. Survivors include one daughter, Patricia St. Pierre; one son, Herbert C. Sutton; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Sutton; three sisters, Bessie Sutton, Grace Matthew and Sudie Colby; three brothers, Bill, Luke and Jimmy Rackley; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much. Her favorite song was “I am going to a City where the roses never fade”; she very peacefully and without pain did just that and was greeted by her son, Donnie. She will be missed and loved forever. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 12, at Calvary Baptist Church, 4040 Dunn Avenue, with Rev. George Kratochvil officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm Sunday at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 1426 Rowe Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Calvary Baptist Church, 4040 Dunn Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
