Nancy Bennett Doolette

Nancy Bennett Doolette, 80, of Ponte Vedra Beach, passed away August 9, 2010. She was born in Miami Beach on June 18, 1930. The daughter of the late Milo W. and Clara (Preston) Bennett, Nancy spent her early years in Miami Beach with her sister Gloria Jane Astor. Nancy graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in retail merchandising. She raised her children in Florida before moving to Bethesda, Maryland, upon accepting a position as handbag buyer for Hahns Shoes. After retirement, she moved to Jacksonville Beach, and finally to Ponte Vedra Beach, where she spent her last days.

Surviving are her loving husband, John B. Doolette, two sons, Robert L. Bannerman III, Milo Bennett (Simeone Frost) Bannerman, two daughters, Martha Ellen (Al) Entrekin, Jane Ann (John) Gaw, from her first husband, Robert L. Bannerman. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Aimee Guieere, Emily Bannerman, Erin Entrekin, Alex Entrekin, R. Lee Bannerman Barwick, five step children, Peter (Lisa) Doolette, Ian (Heather) Doolette, Ann (Hank Prunckum) Doolette, Jane Doolette, David Doolette and many dear friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 14, at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 4115 Hendricks Ave., Jacksonville, FL. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
