Nancy Katheryn Parks entered eternity on July 20, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Katheryn was born on March 15, 1934 in Willacoochee, GA to Jesse and Myrtice Moore. She married the love of her life, William J “Bill” Parks Jr. in 1953 and created a huge, loving family the 64 years they were together. Being true life partners, Katheryn worked hard at Bill's side as they built a business and served their community through Bill's careers in the fire department and military. They traveled coast to coast in America several times, often, with grandkids in tow. With the attitude that you can’t out give God, forgiveness and blessings from them were abundant, and in some cases, without understanding. Katheryn was a faithful Catholic and a lover of Jesus her whole life. Katheryn’s deep genuine faith could move mountains and her light shown for the world to see. Things that would make most anyone cold and hardened made this diamond shine brighter with every hard obstacle she faced. Katheryn exuded joy and thankfulness until the very end….saying, “We’re blessed, we’re blessed, thank the Lord we’re blessed!” 5,000 times in the last 6 months! Katheryn leaves a legacy of love, strength, faith in God, kindness and the perfect example of a noble wife, mother and grandmother. One of her granddaughters expressed in words what her whole family feels –
Because of you, I love
Because of you, I forgive
Because of you, I care
Because of you, I show compassion
Because of you, I praise God
Because of you, I am who I am
Katheryn is preceded in death by her husband Bill, sons Jack, Jesse and Joe, grandson Albert, her parents, and all of her siblings. Katheryn is survived by daughter Anna (Craig), son Red (Cheryl), 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 29 nieces and nephews, ex-wives club daughters and many many adopted family members. She made a difference in all the lives mentioned!
