

Nathan Weiss, 88, passed away on March 16, 2016 in Jacksonville, FL after a lengthy illness. Nathan was born in New York, NY where he lived for the first 12 years of his life until his family relocated to Jacksonville, FL.
Nathan graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, after which he volunteered for the United States Army and proudly served his country for two years. After an honorable discharge, he attended the University of Florida. During his tenure at UF, Nathan married Elaine Silverman. While attending college, Nathan and Elaine had two children, Avery Harold and Davida Sue. After graduation, they moved back to Jacksonville. Nathan was employed with the US Corps of Engineers for 42 years. During his working years, he and Elaine had three additional children, Shawna Faye, Leah Janeen and Joshua Robert.
Nathan was a member of the Pi Llamda Phi Fraternity while attending college, also was a member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and then subsequently became a member of Etz Chaim Synagogue, where he served as a board member for a time. He was a volunteer at River Garden Hebrew Home. In addition, during his life, Nathan was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and later Boy Scoutmaster for Troop 14. Nathan enjoyed hobbies such as stamp collecting and painting.
In November 1994, Elaine passed away due to a lengthy bout with cancer. In March of 2001, Nathan married Feodora (Fee) Dedrick. Between the two families, there were 12 children and from the children sprang forth 26 grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, March 18 in New Center Cemetery (Evergreen), 43rdand Liberty.
