

MURPHY - Pat Murphy passed away on March 8th in Jacksonville, Florida after a three year battle with dementia. Pat will be remembered for his jovial nature, lifelong friendships, and his dedication and devotion to his family. Pat loved to be on the road, traveling throughout the Southeast and always looking for a new adventure. Pat was an unwavering, devoted and proud father and loved to dote on his granddaughter. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, vacationing with family and as any true Irishman; he loved to have a good time. Pat loved horse racing and could often be found at the track with friends on any given weekend and enjoyed owning his own racehorse.
Pat was born on May 22, 1946 in Magnolia, Arkansas. He graduated from Magnolia High School in 1964 and then went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from SMU in Dallas, Texas where he made many lifelong friends. A consummate salesman, he was motivated to succeed from an early age. He became a very successful sales representative for several well known companies in the clothing industry. He maintained a showroom at the Dallas Apparel Mart for many years and was a close friend to those who knew him in the apparel business.
Pat is predeceased by his parents Jerome P Murphy and Mary Louise Murphy. He is survived by his daughter Patricia Murphy Trevett and granddaughter Emily Louise Trevett of Jacksonville, Florida, his brother Jay Murphy of Hot Springs, Arkansas, his brother Richard Murphy and sister Mary Martin of Magnolia, Arkansas.
Pat was a very loving and caring father who will be greatly missed by family, friends and all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on May, 22, 2016 in Magnolia, Arkansas; details to follow.
