Patsy was born in Hawkinsville, GA on September 20, 1931. She moved to Jacksonville in 1956. Her passions were God, Family, Church and cooking for others. She married J.E. when she was 19 years old in Macon, Georgia.
Patsy was a charter member at Ft. Caroline Baptist Church where she was very active. Cooking for her church family gave her great joy. Each week she looked forward to attending Sunday school with her special friends whom she loved dearly. She also was very involved in the monthly Pioneers group and loved singing in the Senior Choir at church. She loved crafting and always giving someone a special gift. For many years she hosted big gatherings at her home and was known for her Christmas decorations and parties. Attending Florida football games with her family and friends was a Family Tradition. She and J.E. enjoyed traveling in their motorhomes with their dear friends, Mary and Shelby Turner.
She had the gift of hospitality. At her home, church and even her doctor appointments she was always giving something to others. She was a role model to many. She had an incredible memory and compassion for others. Over the years we all learned so much from her by listening to her and watching her. She helped and worked with J.E. to start his successful business, J.E. Abercrombie, Inc. She was focused, relentless, and always got the job done. She will always be in our hearts forever and always.
Patsy lived a very full and active life. She was a true blessing to many. Patsy and J.E. recently celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary in June.
Patsy is survived by her husband, J.E. Abercrombie, one son, Dennis (Kay) Abercrombie and one daughter Judy (Jerry) Smedley.
