She was born on August 7, 1936, in Burnsville, North Carolina to the late Ralph and Ernie Ray. She grew up on her parents’ dairy farm in Burnsville, helping the family farm to thrive before going away to college. Peggy went on to earn her Associate’s Degree from Mars Hill College where she also met her husband, Everett Neal Holland, marking the beginning of a beautiful lifelong journey together.
Peggy and Neal made their home all over Florida, eventually settling down in St. Augustine at the World Golf Village, where she enjoyed a warm and vibrant community.
