Peter T Younan

YOUNAN - Peter Tony Younan, 90, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2018 at the Community Hospice McGraw Center for Caring. Pete was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Pete was born in Detroit, MI to Tony and Shumsee Younan and spent most of his early years in Detroit. He married Barbara Denomme in 1948 and, after running several businesses, the couple relocated to Jacksonville where they raised their two children. Pete was an entrepreneur and had several businesses in Jacksonville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and one brother. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara Younan; two daughters, Barbie Easley (David) and Toni Younan; one brother, George Younan, Detroit, MI; five grandchildren, David Easley (Tricia), Drena Johnson (Donny), Brian Easley (Devon), Adam Kinard (Jessica) and Kyle Kinard (Lindsey); nine great-grandchildren, Kristen, Sasha, Tyler, Emilee, Owen, Miles, Natalie, Eliot and Ryan; and nieces and nephews.

His family will be forever grateful to Community Hospice and his caregivers, Lena Scott & Jody Roberts, for their loving care of our husband and father over the last six months.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on April 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Salaam Club, 8101 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL followed by a Mercy Meal.
