Philip "Pete" Allen

Allen, Philip Daniel (Pete) passed away on January 17, 2016. He wanted everyone to know that on that day he finally quit smoking. He was born in Lexington, KY on July 26, 1935. He was predeceased by his mother - Allyne Allen, father - Dewitt Allen, sister - Barbara Touchton, wife of 22 years - Alice Bell Allen, daughter - Sharon Smith, and companion - Eueline Raulerson. He is survived be his sister - Minna Boyle (Jerry), his children: Bill Smith (Ginger), Kathy Smith Burton (Jim), Bobby Smith (Ida), Patti Smith Wright (Jody); grandchildren: Clay Smith, Ami Prentiss Outlaw, Jason Johnson, Jenny Johnson Lanski Rozier, Jill Johnson Smith, Carrie Smith, Adam Daniel Smith, and Emily Smith; great-grandchildren: Sydney Burton, Abigail Johnson, Kierstyn Lanski, Landen Rozier and Melodi Outlaw.

Pete loved to watch and play golf, was a great mathmatician and a whiz with crossword and Soduku puzzles. He also loved animals.

Pete was a wonderful man, father, brother, son, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a unique sense of humor. He was loved by all of us tremendously and we will forever be thankful to God for bringing him into our lives.

Family viewing will be Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Hardage Giddens Funeral Home located at 729 Edgewood Ave. South. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32205 at 11:00am on Friday, January 22, 2016.
