

Ray Abram Carey, age 82, passed away on May 25, 2020 at Community Hospice after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He leaves behind his wife Wanda of 27 years, two daughters Christine Bryan and Connie Carey and two sons Scott and Steven Carey. Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is the youngest son of Rena and Walter Carey of Bridgewater, NY. He was the last of 8 children. He served in the Army National Guard during the 1960s. Ray retired from the Medical Malpractice Insurance business at 75 yo as a Senior Claims Vice President. He loved baseball (Dodgers) Gator football and basketball. Ray was most definitely a “car guy” as he loved to restore and drive antique cars. He and Wanda drove all over the country to car shows. He was a little league coach for 14 year and also an umpire. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews as he was the youngest of 8. Ray will be laid to rest in his hometown of Bridgewater, NY with his twin brother Fay Carey who passed in 1997. Ray and Wanda attended Trinity Methodist Church. He loved the church socials and the Clay County Gator Club. Ray never met a stranger and always had a smile for everyone.
